One of my first stories, posted only in a community, so few of you have seen it. I was remembering it today and thought I'd put it here for my own records. The writing is a little rough, but it still works for me. Maybe I should read it for a phone post ( Read more... )

It's a little nostalgic to look back on the stuff I wrote almost a year ago. There are a few other things I posted only in communities (back when I was a bit more shy) so maybe I'll go back and find them all sometime so that this is a better record of my thoughts.

It's funny - usually when I re-read my own stuff all I can think about is word choice and the like - but this one still really hits something inside me.

I know exactly what you mean. That one made me all perky. But yes, I'm also very critical of my own writing.

Yeah, a friend recently invited me to join a writing workshop and I begged off because I don't want the pressure. I used to write a lot when I was younger, but for a number of years I had little urge to do so. Writing this stuff gives me such freedom. Which might sound odd, because of the confines of the genre, but it feels that way to me.

Hah! I could almost hear you there. I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I'm a big sap, but sometimes a mix of strong emotion can make the sensation just a bit sharper.

I haven't seen it yet - I can't get my home email at work. But now I have something to look forward to!

I usually hate my pictures as well. I'm trying not to be quite so nitpicky about my appearance, but it's hard. I think it doesn't help that my mom is a Barbie.

I usually manage to fit it into my AM routine, but every once in awhile I get to go in late (a doctor's appointment in the morning, say) and that is a real treat. Lucky you! (though it's nicer if there's someone else to provide diversion.)

Hah - you know, I never wrote anything further - I know it's a little weird, but the idea of being w/ a woman for a man is rather exciting to me, and I find women beautiful and interesting, but I don't really think of them sexually. This is about as far as I go.

The guy, however, is my standard fantasy demon lover, and he turns up over and over in my stories.

I'm glad I could provide a momentary distraction. And was that TV ad way back when - "It's new to you"?

I'm a little embarrassed to admit how often this one has run in my own private movie theater. Sensurround!
