1/50 The Fox by Sherwood Smith
Finally finished this book. I actually started it last year (maybe a week after reading its predecessor Inda?) but didn't get into the full swing of it until this past week (mostly because I have to get it back to the library and therefore had to run through the almost 700 pages).
In a book this long, it shouldn't be all that surprising that a few parts were boring. Smith's writing is rather rough-- by which I mean, undecorated, not bad. Sometimes it doesn't hold one's attention as well other writing might. Still, loads of things happened to keep one's interest: I was very impressed with the ending of Part 1, and the ending of the actual book itself has me excited for Book 3 (it was also a cliff hanger, which explains some of my excitement). In complaining about the book's length (a blessing and curse, really) I almost took for granted the depth of Smith's world building-- which is fabulous, and the whole reason people should read this book (along with its predecessor Inda and eventual sequel King's Shield).
That's all for now. Reading List will be
