OMG I haven't posted here yet! (this year anyway)

As always I only count movies I haven't seen before. Movies from the 1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die - List^ have a *
(^yes I know it's an old list but I focus on the older films anyway because the more recent ones change too much XD)

I agree with you on all the animated, except Megamind (haven't seen it) and Sleeping Beauty. Sleeping Beauty is my favorite of the Disney fairy tales, and it is Maleficent that MAKES the movie for me. Gloriously, pentametrically evil. It's a little darker than most, and I like that too. Not to mention the use of the Tchaikovsky.

I didn't know many fairy tales growing up (my mum thinks they are too cruel for children - and they are) but I remember a book about Sleeping Beauty or illustration of some kind (not sure) and I really liked it. It was more "down to earth" and also not so black/white good/evil magic thingy as the film was. So.. no I don't like the film. I wish I'd had that book to read it again.
