scrapped my first idea

Well, really it was my third novel idea, but instead I'm writing my first novel idea. I figure I can start on it and it'll be a real rough draft... just trying to get things out... I've been thinking about this one for years, and since it takes place in Chicago and I've been missing it tons, I figured I'd write about that.

I'm 1161 for today.

That's so funny that you are writing a novel that takes place in Chicago while you miss it tons, because mine takes place in New York which is what I miss tons right now!

I had a funny moment before bed last night. I stumbled in late after Sprite's b-day, and was feeling a wee bit moody (read: Didn't feel like writing) but then decided that mood was the perfect place to start my character in - so I wrote how I was feeling from her perspective. And wouldn't you know? 2,100 words later I went to bed. Yay!
