Comments: Alright, I'm not totally sure what I'm doing with this. Set as Nightmare is beginning as a band in January 2000. I'm sure I'll get many of the facts wrong, but I hope it will be enjoyable anyway. X3
“Do you want to be in my band?” The offer was so quiet, so timid in its delivery, that Yuuji didn’t know it was directed at him until he turned to see the wisp of a human being waiting for an answer in his periphery. There was a mixture of expectancy and uncertainty in the young man’s eyes, like he couldn’t decide if he was making the right choice in speaking up. He called himself Sakito, that much Yuuji knew, and he was gangly, wide-eyed, with a complicated mess of dyed ginger hair dwarfing his delicate face. The name suited him, somehow.
Yuuji didn’t speak immediately, replacing his bass in its case with more care than it usually received while he thought. There were whispers floating around the teenage indie scene about this kid, about his potential and the ease with which he coaxed melodies from his second hand guitar. Looking him up and down discreetly, Yuuji straightened up, wondering at the benefits or consequences. Sakito had his hands in his pockets, patient for an answer, still wearing his coat as if he’d dropped in to the show for the sole purpose of asking him that. Or maybe he was just cold; the slender figure had no meat on him.
“You’re serious?” Yuuji stalled, scratched his head. Session bands with his friends were one thing, but there was something definitive in Sakito’s eyes. He nodded once, yes. “Why me?”
“We need a bassist…” Sakito looked like he wanted to say something more, but changed his mind and shrugged, biting his lip. “I thought you might be available,” he added after a moment.
Whether he was plunging in the deep end or not, Yuuji said, “Well, I guess. I’ll do a trial run at least, if you want.”
Perhaps that wasn’t the precise answer Sakito was looking for, but it brought at least a faint smile to his face, almost a secret expression meant only for himself. They exchanged numbers and parted ways, Yuuji wondering uncomfortably what he was getting himself into.

In case anyone is not familiar, Yuuji is Ni~ya's real name. I have no idea when he came up with his stage name, so I started with that. X3;
