Chicago - Trip day 3

Well, yesterday we were in three states. We left NY, crossed PA, crossed OH, and made it to Indiana. There really wasn't much to see on the way. Gas will drop down to about the prices you mentioned above the closer you get to Texas, and then drop out hideously as you head west from here. Of course, once you're knocking on the door to Cali, they go back up....and keep going up.
Chicago is a city that defies mapping. Seriously. I spent two summers back in the 90s on multiple trips trying to make sense of the place, and then again, in the winter (ick) while running a huge fever in early 2002. The only way to really get around is to ask a local and then take it with a grain of salt.
Really, I think it's kind of like the movie Dark City. :)
