[Semi-Open Post] This is why I said "never doing that again".

Three months to go before the kid is born, and Jack is already restless: given the risks involved (age, structural gender and the risks involved, risk of hypertension, etc. etc. Pick one, pick 'em all.), Muraki has put him on bed rest. In some ways, he's objecting: he's going to be out commission till May, and that still means surgery to bring the ( Read more... )

Phedre has been out and about, and she misses the Mansion. She's been, well, coming in, paying what visits she can. She still remains out at the cottage, because the habit has fallen on her, for now, though she misses the Mansion's madness and the flow of friends and acquaintances, and so she's been visiting more than one might expect, given the weather.

And so an anguissette might peer into the room. She has a basket of goodies (possibly her brother's baking) on her arm, and a small smile.

“Captain Harkness?”

He'll return the smile, hitching himself higher on his pillows. "In the flesh, make that the very tired and frazzled flesh," he says. "Though the sight of your pretty face and the sound of your kind voice is a good recharge."

That winds Jack a grin. “Ever the sweet talker,” she teases. “I've in truth no idea what this feels like. Are you hungry? I brought you some of Alcuin's baking. Croissants, and a pot of tea, to warm your spirits.”

"Gotta be the one of the most physically draining yet emotionally exhilarating things I've ever experienced -- this time around at least. Hope you get the chance to experience it: you'd probably handle it better," he says. "And they don't call it eating for two for nothing: not allowed to have my usual coffee, so tea's been a lifesaver. Had the chance to sample some of Alcuin's goods -- his cooking, that is."

As promised, Mia comes in to check up on him.

"Jack?"

He might be half-dozing when she approaches, but hearing her voice, he twitches awake, giving her a sleepy grin. "Hmm, must've dozed off," he murmurs. "How's it going in the world outside this room?"

"Fine, for now. The Shadow Angels are looking for new people, and you may have a partner when you come back." Mia lets him know.

He'll raise an eyebrow, his smile turning into a crafty grin. "Really now? And who's the lucky person I get to keep watch with?" he asks.

It's happenstance that takes Sugar to Jack's room, really. She dropped a ball which she's found and wanted to give Sophie, then followed it as it rolled promptly into his room.

She'll pick it up, look up, and start with an apology, “I'm so sorry, I was just picking this up, and I'll be out of....”

Pause.

“Captain Harkness?”

He was dozing, head leaning on one arm folded under his head, but he turns toward the sound and opens his eyes. "Hmmm, I was dreaming of a sweet voice, but I woke up to find it was true," he murmurs, smiling up at her, sleepy-eyed.

Sugar looks up at the familiar voice, blinks.

“Captain Harkness?” She'll tiptoe closer. “... are you ill? It's the middle of the afternoon...”

I'm assuming, since their other thread is in limbo, that they stuck to cuddles? Or? Also, might Eames be poked?

"Nothing catching, I can assure, but the doctor who's looking after me has me off my feet for a while," he says, pulling himself up higher on the pillows (and keeping the blankets gathered about himself). "Wouldn't mind some company, though: gets a bit lonely here."

Finally dug up that thread: either way, cuddling sounds delightful!

Here comes one of your possible baby daddies, Jack. We want to say that Warden has warmed up a bit to the idea of being a Father, but the fact is, it's still rather lost on him.

How can he create a prison the likes of anyone has ever seen with a strange poop-making squishy creature?

Still he visits Jack. "Hows my favorite bad boy inmate doing?"

Ooooh, might send Eames along to say hullo... 51stcentry_jack February 25 2013, 17:12:28 UTC
That greeting earns the Warden a broad, 500 watt grin. "Feelin' like I swallowed the ball and chain," Jack replies, glancing down at the bump under the bedcovers. "How's it going with the guy who might've got me this way?"

He sits down next to him, cane in hand.

"Same old, same old..." Of course he never tells Jack about the deal he made.

He looks like the type that will judge.

"Charmin' the pretty folks and imprisoning the wicked ones? Or is that the other way around, seeing that I'm stuck on my back till the spring," Jack replies. We suspect that he'd be fine with the construction of a prison -- as long he gets to be involved in interrogations*. The matter of Morgoth's involvement... well, things might get dicey then.

*Also, we suspect he might throw Angelo Colasanto on the Warden's mercy, if it came to that...

"Captain Harknss?" Fuchsia's standing outside the door, not looking inside, nor knocking. She's only calling in to see if he's awake.

(As if her voice wouldn't wake someone as it is.)

There's a rustle of bedcovers and a questioning murmur, then Jack's cheery baritenor calls out, "Present and accounted for, though beggin' yer ladyship's pardon, I'm indisposed."

"Oh," She stands outside the door not sure what to do.

So, she calls in. "I can leave then."

"Nah, come right in: just meant that I can't greet you proper-like at the door," he calls back to her. "Bit tired: kidlet kept me awake all night poking at my ribs."
