Put this list in the order it occurred in your life:

Get married

Have baby #1
Have baby #2
Have baby #3
Have baby #4
Graduate college
Graduate high school
Meet significant other
Meet who you hoped was your significant other but wasn’t
Move out of parent’s house for good
Start college
Become gainfully employed
Buy a car
Get drunk for the first time
Get a cell phone
Get divorced

Become gainfully employed *
Meet who you hoped was your significant other but wasn’t [hindsight is a fickle bitch ;)]
Graduate high school
Start college
Graduate college
Buy a house
Move out of parent’s house for good
Get married
Buy a car **
Get pregnant
Have baby #1
Get divorced
Get a cell phone

* I started working at a bookstore when I was sixteen, and had worked before that for my dad’s paving company - everything from preparing payroll to shoveling asphalt. I don’t think there were any child labor law violations. :P I just really wanted to work.

** That was the first one I bought myself. Before that I had been driving the car my parents got for me when I was sixteen. I was a responsible teenager, keeping a job and taking evening college classes while in high school so I needed the transportation.

Meme #2

The Rules:
1. People who have been tagged must write the answers on their blog and replace any question they dislike with a new, original question.
2. Tag eight people. Don't refuse to do that. Don't tag who tagged you.

Alternate rules invoked by Sherry: Disregard above rules. :D

I did this meme Sunday evening so I’m posting it as is, rather than making an editing attempt which might not get finished and then leave the poor meme languishing with so many other partial posts in my hard drive. Another new rule, it seems. ;)

1. Make a list of 5 things that you can see without getting up.
Criminal Minds on the TV; a glass of raspberry iced tea; stack of files for taxes, medical expenses and genealogy; my cat staring at me expectantly; my cell phone

2. How do you style your hair?
Wash and blow dry straight with a hot air brush.

3. What are you wearing now?
Jeans and a green Henley shirt.

4. What's your occupation?
Secretary

5. Name a favorite something (flower, rock, food, film, song, etc.) that you think no one knows?
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens? ;) hmm, my favorite store-bought jelly/jam: Smucker’s black raspberry seedless jam

6. Who was the last person you hugged?
My son

7. What is/was for dinner?
Dinner was at Wendy's with my nephew. Tomorrow it's tacos at my son’s request; he’s currently working in an adjacent county and staying/sleeping at home while on this gas well project.

8. What did you do today?(Sunday 4-10-11)
Took two naps before noon while semi-watching Law & Order reruns, washed bedding which meant afternoon nap had to be taken on the couch, genealogy research since I’m having a somewhat lucid light headache kind of day, assembled an entertainment center for my mother with the help of my nephew, took nephew to dinner since niece was at play practice/shopping with my sister, watched American Pickers with nephew, more genealogy, phone calls to/from cousins, some scary bedtime stories courtesy of Criminal Minds

9. Favorite cupcake flavor?
Chocolate. Yellow. Red Velvet. White. Lemon. Mmm, whatever kind you have.

10. If you had to change your name, what would you change it to?
Maybe Samantha or Isabella? I always thought those would be nice names for a daughter. I’m good though with the name I have. My mother said she had decided between the names, Sherry and Brandy. Um, anything you want to tell me, mum? My middle name is Diana … from Diana Prince, Wonder Woman’s secret identity. o.O Yeah, Sherry Diana is just fine. Apparently I could have fared worse and been stuck with something like Zinfadel Zor-El.

11. What was the last item that you bought (that wasn't food)?
Harry and Hermione ‘Hogwarts Heroes’ dolls on ebay.

12. If you could afford to go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
England, Scotland, Ireland, Italy, Greece, Spain … summarily, Europe.

13. Favorite type of music?
I enjoy different genres of music. Recent playlists have included Marc Broussard (bayou soul), Vampire Weekend, The Decemberists, Cee-Lo, Adele, Eric Clapton, Iron & Wine, Les Misérables soundtrack in French, music from Glee, etc. Too many types to prefer a favorite.

14. Favorite novel?
Les Misérables has been a favorite book since high school and in recent years, The Shadow of the Wind affected me the same way.

15. Your favorite pair of pajamas?
I really need new pajamas. I sleep mostly in oversized tee shirts, sometimes with pj bottoms.

16. If you could play any musical instrument, which one would you play?
The guitar. I’ve tried many instruments but I truly lack any musical capability.

17. Who do you want to bitchslap the most?
Lately, the exes and soon-to-be exes of my lovely friends. When I say bitchslap I really mean something far worse which, of course, would never be proven because a gentile Southern lady would not be caught behaving in such an unseemly manner … the operative words being, would not be caught. ;)

18. If you could read a loved one's mind for 24 hours, would you?
No, I can already read/predict my family well enough. It’s a time-saver.

19. What are you looking forward to the most?
More traveling. I had a great meet-up with LJ friends last month and am planning some more meet-ups, hopefully soon. I have the traveling bug and hope to be able to travel more this year.

20. What do you hear right now?
Criminal Minds in the background, specifically Dr. Reid Spencer’s dulcet tones.

21. What's your guilty pleasure?
Lately, naps. I was never a napper until last year’s health issues but I now know and appreciate the joy of nap.

22. Dog or cat person?
Both, although I currently only have cats.

23. Where do you see yourself in five years?
Happily making my way through whatever life brings.

24. What are you doing this weekend?
See #8. Mainly been spending lots of time with family. Recent spate of funerals has made us all better appreciative of our time together.

25. What's your favorite place to go on vacation?
I love everything from cities/museums to unusual places off the beaten path. I live in the mountains so the beach is always a nice change of scenery. Overall, historical places may be my favorite. I’m happy to travel anywhere; there are always amazing places to see and interesting people to meet.

26. How are you?
Okay. Still smiling and laughing about life in general.
