Catch that buzz

I'm trying to decide if Gmail via IMAP is worth getting excited about.
So far, I think it's not.

Oh, yeah it is. This is huge.

A lot of geeks like me who've gotten bitten by POP in the last 15 years would never trust anything but IMAP.

Not saying _everyone_ will move to fulltime Gmail, but a lot of folks will. Esp. the ones with iPhones.

I never bothered with POP. I just use(d) the webclient. Which I honestly think is maybe still good enough for me? I dunno. I'm trying Mail, but I suspect I'll have gone back to my living in Firefox ways in a week's time.

I know the iPhone people are excited, and I understand that. It's just that on my computer, I don't see the need to run two apps when I can run one.

I have an iPhone. I wasn't so much "excited" as saying, "it's about fucking time they fixed this."

I still use the web client on my computer.

I wasn't really a fan of IMAP until recently, as my mail on my home computer now reflects folders and rules made on the account, which is pretty nifty as I don't get bothered by an inbox full of work-related.
