Gail Collins has been the best thing going on the NYT Opinion page for the past year. I loved her before she left to run the editorial board, and I love her even more now.

Today's column actually brought a tear to my eye. HRC's candidacy had some flaws as a 'first woman' test case -- Clinton fatigue being the main, at least for me -- and she did, ( Read more... )

Just out of curiosity, do you get to vote absentee from over there?

Yep. Ex-patriates (and military) vote in their last state of residence. Which makes me an Illinois voter and thus makes my vote pretty much meaningless. :)

There's party activity here (and everywhere), though. I'm going to a Democrats Abroad event in a couple weeks' time with Howard Dean. I'm hoping that by then things will be on the up and up for Democratic unity.
