I'm slowly but surely speaking more, and with more confidence. I've told all my friends who speak English to ONLY speak in Spanish with me, except Jose b/c I know he likes to practice English too (as evidenced by the fact that whenever I tell him about a new word or idiomatic phrase, he uses it in a sentence and tries to spell it), but even with ( Read more... )

OOO I can totally relate with the confusion after a phone conversation. It gets better - I promise. I´m now to the point where I can understand just about everything on the phone, and I´m not embarrassed to ask them to repeat something anymore because its no longer necessary after every single sentence. lol. And the other day I talked to Hugo on the phone and I understood everything he said which is hugely significant because he´s generally hard to understand because he stutters a bit and mumbles a lot, and even his cousin has a hard time understanding him!

For Halloween you should go as a gringa!

LMAO but I'm always a gringa, that's no fun. Unless I adopt the typical gringa accent for a day. But that's not that obvious, and then I'd have to pay full price to get into bars LOL I could dress up as an American -- with flags all over my clothes, and perhaps a picture of Bush to carry around. LMAO!!!
