I don't notice more, but I think your body chemistry does change over time. Mosquitoes don't bite me as much as they used to. Maybe it's because I always have my tasty, tender children with me, making me look like a tough old piece of leather.

When I was a kid, the city used to have big old trucks drive through the neighborhood spraying for mosquitoes. *gasp*

I'm not often out after sunset, nor am I in humid areas, so I don't think I can speak to the mosquitoes issue, but I can speak to noseeums. I bet Pam is sick of me complaining about these things. Maybe Pennsylvania just never had this kind of bug, I don't know, but I loathe noseeums and they seem to attack me before anyone else in the group when I'm out. Eventually, they start getting them, too, but I'm always first. Isn't there a natural something you can eat to keep insects away from you? Is it garlic? Or Basil? I don't remember.

I think garlic is supposed to help. Neem keeps bugs away, but I don't know how in the world you'd eat it.

Anytime we've been to Sri Lanka, Sree's family marvels at how much the mosquitos bite us. I don't know what it is in their diet that keeps them from getting bitten. All the curry maybe.

Noseeums are miserable. I've never had as bad an experience with them as that day at Celebration.

I ate raw garlic all summer at camp and still got covered in bites. I think if they like you, they like you.

When I went to Venezuela for a tropical field course I dosed myself up with B6. You could smell it coming out of my pores when I sweat. I also practically bathed in DEET (blech) and I still got more mosquito bites than anyone else. I definitely think some peopel are more attractive than others to the skeeters.
