Here is the personalized vegetarian menu. This was, hands down, the very best meal I've ever had. It is a very small, intimate restaurant with "mood lighting." It was romantic, but didn't help with the pictures. We didn't want to use the flash, so a lot of them didn't come out at all.
Here is the Amuse Bouche. Everything is very tiny and cute!. From the upper left hand corner, going clockwise: deviled quail egg, creamy squash soup, watercress roulade and a spring roll in ginger sauce. Not show, was three different types of bread served throughout the meal: french bread, truffle brioche and whole grain.
Here is the hearts of palm and jicma "cannelloni" with baby greens and radishes:
The photos of the next two courses (mushroom tortellini and the calamarata pasta) didn't come out, but here is the main course (from left to right) of fall squash risotto, stewed french lentils, garlic mashed potatoes with candied garlic on top. The mustard spaetzle is in the middle and a variety of very tasty veggies and the bottom. Our favorite veg was a little crosne. The chef (who came out later to visit with everyone) said that they had it flow in from France. I had never heard of it before.
For the next course we got to choose the gelato or the cheese. I got the cheese and it had lovely little sides like wine-stewed pears and candied walnuts. Below is Brian's gelato.
For dessert, Brian got the trio of Tanzanian chocolate pyramid, Hawaiian kona chocolate souffle and Peruvian chocolate ice cream and puff pastry with chocolate eyelashes. I got the caramelized banana gateau. It was supper awesome.
We also got a little "extra" of sweets. Here is a picture of the rum filled chocolates, fruit jellies and macademia cookies.
We were incredibly full, but it was worth it! Afterwards, we took a walk around the lake and watched the water pagent.
