Rules & Guidelines

Rules

1. 5genres is a prompt table writing community. This means that to participate, you pick out your prompts (in this case literary genres) and work your way through writing a fic about each of them. A list of genres can be found here.
2. You may make a claim to only one fandom at a time. The fics may be about anyone or anything in that fandom, ie. you are not committed to writing certain characters or ships. Writing cross-overs is acceptable as long as one of the fandoms is the fandom you claimed. The same fandom may be claimed by multiple people at the same time. Claiming takes place here.
3. All fics must be at least 500 words long, with the exception of poetry and graphic novels. There is no upper limit. Fics do not have to be beta-read, but do at least look over your work so that no appalling spelling and grammar mistakes remain.
4. Once you’ve finished a fic, post it to the community for the world to enjoy. Please refer to the posting guidelines below.
5. Please let us know if you decide to drop out or wish to change fandoms. Also, let us know when you’ve finished your table, so we can mention you in our hall of fame!
