TITLE: Seven Deadly Sins PAIRING: Jack/Elizabeth RATING: PG-13 SUMMARY: The 4th part in my "Seven Deadly Sins" series. 3 more to go. The first three parts are here.
This was absolutely, heartbreakingly beautiful, just like the other three. Please continue ASAP.
a cold, expensive image of the last person she thought she'd become.
I love this description, but I especially love the first paragraphs and the lead-up. I read the first paragraph twice to fully understand the meaning; that a dress is not just a dress but a prison, too.
It is human nature to crave the unattainable, but her sin was quite different, in that the unattainable was all she craved. Her sin was wanting more than the whole of the world could provide.
God, I feel like this almost every day. That's my own problem. But I can see that as Elizabeth, too... she wants what she can't have, its mystery and beauty.
She still could not imagine sleep without his weight next to her, without his constant blanket-thievery, without nudging him awake, five times a night, to keep from falling off the bed, and at least another four, just to cause him, in a state of half-dream, to wrap his arms around her, bury his face in her chest, and drift
( ... )
Gorgeous, as always. I was completely thrilled to see that envy had posted, and I love the way you took our expectation of envy (Jack-envies-Will; Will-envies-Jack etc etc) and turned it one its head, made the sin come from a want of freedom and not necessarily a want of love.
Splendid prose, as always. I am especially in love with the image of the necklace, and the metaphoric weight it creates. I can relate to that in a very real life way, both the jewelry and the emotion.
