Wild Harmony

It came as a surprise as Kouga appeared in his twister, scooped her up and flitted her away. She found herself in familiar strong and warm arms, but he said nothing but gave her a toothy smile. Normally when arrived within her group’s vicinity, he would make broad announcements, about her being his woman, and then fight with InuYasha. Thus making the both of them forget that she was just right there listening to them with exasperation. This time he did no such thing, just poof, appearing and snatching her away. He didn’t even stop to offer a casual word to irritate InuYasha.

Kagome took a few minutes to appreciate him, as he wasn’t spouting any possessive nonsense. He looked magnificent with his free flying raven hair, only bound in a ponytail that shifted in his tail winds. The familiar brown fur ruffling on his shoulders, wrists, legs, and waist. Amazingly his dark armor was comfortable as she leaned against it, but before she could finish her examination he halted. The wind shifted slightly as he gently laid her down, and pointed upward. Breathless at the sight, she smiled at him before gazing back at the sky.

It was dark and beautiful, like a famous painter had mixed all the dark blues and purples with a hint of black and splashed it upon the sky. The moon was it’s own glory, round and whole, gleaming wonderfully. However, what really caught her attention was the merrily sparkling diamonds in the sky. Yes, they were stars, but that didn’t do them justice, no they were blazing jewels. Happy she turned to the male who brought her to this cliff for such an awesome view. Amazed, she found him tracing small patterns in the sky, he wasn’t even trying to crowd her space. He must have heard her shuffle on the soft grass because he turned to her with a small smile. Kagome lightly gasped, he looked so at peace, as opposed to any normal time she caught him, as Naraku had made a mark on his soul.

"Kouga?" She prodded gently.

"Hmm?" He responded.

"Thank you." She stated, and absently reached over, locking a hand with one of his. He only smile and turned back to the stars, he belonged to the wild. Kagome didn’t truly understand that until just this moment, he dropped everything because he belonged to everything. He tightened his grip slightly but did nothing else accept lift his other hand to trace designs again. Kagome wanted to question, needed to question, what he was doing, but she knew he would not speak unless he designated to do so. This was something he was willing to share, because she meant something to him, because he considered her close to him.

Kagome wondered if for a moment she could actually love the wild wolf before her. He seemed to never take anything for granted, if this one moment was to be true. Looking back at the stars she traced a few things as well, and caught herself adding her name in conjunction with his. Blushing lightly she turned to him, to see a small peaceful smirk on his face, as if he absently knew what she did. Watching him, she noted he was drawing things in the sky, and for once in her life she wanted to be one of the things he drew.

She wanted to be drawn into the stars by his artistic hand. Kagome wanted the harmony he seemed to expel with the world, she wanted that, aching, and needing it. She couldn’t help herself, and lifted her hand to draw childishly in the sky upon the magnificent stars. However, a clawed hand caught hers and gently instructed her to draw a shape. Smiling, she let him lead her, as she noted what they were drawing. After they finished, he gently let her hand go, but she instead reached over and clasped his free hand. She wanted more, and so this time she led him to draw, to which he only chuckled.

Together, he had made her draw them together, and almost picture of them in the stars like they were on the land.
