When I was growing up I'm trying to remember if I ever made any characters in video games based on my teachers. I remember naming people in RPGs and stuff after my friends and family, but I don't remember ever using teachers....

The reason I bring this up is because there's a game for the DS over here called "Friend Collection" (トモダチコレックション),

I know in one of the Legend of Zeldas I had a character named "Steve" after Steve Landy.

It wasn't as easy to create characters when we were little. My niece has made a mii of her teacher for the past three years, so it could happen in America, too.
