Vexen holds Axel’s chin between the pinch of his finger and thumb. His grip is just a touch too hard, fingernails biting into the skin. Vexen is haughty, uncaring, the pain is from his lack of consideration, but that works just fine for Axel.
He likes that edge. Nothing works for him without the danger, without a little sweet agony.
“Such stunning eyes,” Vexen leers, his gaze appreciative but cold. He studies Axel like one of his experiments, like something to be tested, something to be ripped apart, something for Vexen’s fingers to flex and claw inside, before discarding him for the next shiny interest. “A truly lovely colour.”
“Heh, narcissist,” Axel scoffs, smirking, and the nails dig into his skin a little deeper.
Vexen’s eyes narrow, but then he’s grinning, although there’s never any real mirth to his smiles. Of course, there’s no real joy in any of them, Nobodies without hearts, but there’s something about Vexen’s attempts at humour that seem particularly eerie. “Perhaps my own eye colour has tempered my preference,” he admits, voice considering, moving Axel’s face so he’s forced to bend a knee or have his neck wrenched uncomfortably. “Yours are a different shade, of course. Not as strong as my own.”
Axel lets his grin grow wide and filthy. “But what about how pretty mine look, contrasted with my hair,” he coaxes, letting his eyelashes flutter just a little. “I’m like Christmas - don’t you want to unwrap me?”
The wet sound of Vexen’s lips parting makes him want to shiver.
“Yes,” Vexen murmurs, grip never gentling. “I think I shall.” He still wears that calculating expression, but he won’t see through Axel. None of them will, not until it’s too late, and Axel lets his head be tilted further back, throat exposed, wondering if this one will be the one to finally make him feel.
