I told you Michelle with the DRDR is an awesome person.... this just confirms it!!!
This was posted by Donna who goes to the Coweta facility everyday to photograph and post the story of each dog on the Humae Society's site.

Just before leaving today a new sweetie came in. She appeared to be shepherd/peke mix. She was soaking wet and scared - she had been caught in a trap. We dried her off with a towel and took her picture. Our volunteer could not bear to put her immediately back into her cage so she sat in the bonding room with her cuddled in her lap. What our volunteer found was a horrible sight - heartbreaking.
That poor little angel had a chain embedded in her neck. You could not see it unless you felt around her neck because her hair covered the area. This little girl never complained, growled or anything. She just sat on the volunteers lap wanting to be loved.
I immediately called Michelle who said she would take her into rescue - God Bless You Michelle!!! I took her to the vet clinic where they examined her and prepared to removed the chain. I just got a call from the vet who said it was one of the worst cases she had seen. The chain was so deep they had to remove some of the tissue in the neck. The vet looked in her mouth and she was missing several lower teeth and some teeth were broken - she has certainly had a very rough life and she is a young girl.... maybe 2. Oh yeah.......she is also heartworm positive and loaded with worms.
I am attaching pics of this sweet, sweet girl. Just wanted everyone to know Michelle was never worried about money....only about that poor baby. You all have done such a wonderful job of raising funds to go toward shelter pet rescue and here is proof positive of money well spent!
Thank you all for EVERYTHING you do. Her name is "Lucy".

Darn guys, this is just sickening! Poor little gir!
Also today, Chrissy with AAR went to pick up a dog at Coweta and happened to see a small beagle being brought in to be surrendered by the owner. The poor beagle was scared to death and also had a wound on it's leg and was bleeding all over. Might also be pregnant. :( She immediately took the beagle out of the shelter and to the vets. :)
