Now tell me ... right at this moment ...

What Christmas songs are you totally loving and which ones are grating your nerves? (They can be songs from any era as long as they are songs that you've been hearing like the last few days or so).

For me, totally loving:

* I just heard Aimee Mann's version of "Mr. Grinch" and it's killer! I always loved her!

Right at this moment, I am, as always, loving the Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas Song.
I am already sick of hearing the barking dogs.

Aww, I haven't heard the barking dogs song in a LONG time! I actually like that one :)

And, yeah, Alvin is a cute one too ... I always loved the line about "I still want a hula hoop!" :)

I'm getting sick of the Charlie Brown one ... not "Christmas Time is Here" (which I love) but the main theme song ... why is that associated with Christmas?

I like the barking dogs about the first two times I hear it. Some of the travel agencies have radio for their hold music, and I've probably heard it about 40 times already. But I hardly ever hear Alvin!!!
Yeah, that's a good question about Charlie Brown, I never understood what was Christmasy about the theme either.
Oh! I also must listen to Little Drummer Boy by Joan Jett!

Oooh, I forgot about "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear" and "Oh Come All Ye Faithful." I never hear those songs anymore ... I only had Xmas carolers come to my door once! I wish they'd come again!

And you're too funny, I laughed out loud when I read "a department store greeter." So true!

I like most of the old classic songs, like "Silent Night', and "Joy To The World"

Any version of "Little Drummer Boy" grates on me, and I really hate that insipid Paul McCartney "Wonderful Christmas Time".

YES! I love the old classics too. I forgot "Oh Holy Night" -- that one part that gets really over the top, whoa!!

Ha-ha, I love that Paul McCartney song! Dennis hates it. And he hates that one "Mamasita, oh where is Santa Claus" ... I think it's so cute :)

I'm uploading a bunch of Christmas songs right now!
It starts with Dennis's song, actually!

The WHAM! song really irritates me! BUT, I have a whole dirty parody that I do every year.
; P

I LOVE the Pouges & The Pogues & Kristy McCaul songe, "A Fairytale of New York."
Christmas Wrapping, Little Drummer Boy by Bing & Bowie, Christmas Island. Ok, I'd be here forever. OH & The SLade xmas song...

Ahhh, sweet!!

I'm curious about the dirty parody!!

And, you know ... that Pogues & Kristy McCaul (is it McColl?) song is so cool, I listen to it year round. I don't even think of it as a Christmas song -- it's so much more :)

I'll have to do the parody in person. it's pretty filthy & revolves around gay sex.

Kirsty MacColl. I always F that one up!
