Don't think about it.
Just listen and get used to it.
The only thing you need to know, that it's correct and sometimes people use this kind of sentence structure. Although, I should say it sounds a little bookish.I would say something like:

Кого ты ждёшь?
Я жду брата, Игоря.
Вы знаете его?
Нет, я его не знаю.
