I've now been in Belgium for over a year, and overall the experience has been really incredible. There is so much to see, explore, and contemplate. But I have to admit that the language thing has been difficult

And the same for me with Japanese--I majored in it in college, went and lived there, came back and taught it, but never enjoyed being part of a group conversation. Although, now that I think of it, I have difficulty with being in a group conversation in English in many circumstances. It's too much auditory stimulation for my wee brain or something.

But you will return to the US with a sexy French-ness, and that has much value :-)
