Sucky week sucks

Just got back from the hospital where I was visiting my father. He's been admitted to the mental health ward while we try to sort out whether his current erratic (and occasionally aggressive) behaviour is a physiological or psychological thing. Or maybe some combination of both

Oh my dear, I am sorry you are going through this family crisis. I wish I could be of any help to you.
On a personal note, last july I had to travel to my country because my mother was really ill. I was devastated and heartbroken and the only thing that kept me going (even though now when I am writing sounds ridiculus) was your audio recording of Reparations and Foundation.

I don't think that sounds ridiculous at all and I'm very pleased to have helped to provide some distraction when you were going through a tough time.

Over the last few days, I've been rereading all of my old favourite fics (although I've been sticking strictly to non-angsty, funny stories). It seems to be a good way to relax enough to go to sleep.

Am on my way back up to the hospital now. I just had a phone call from dad and I think we're back to angry. Time to think calm thoughts...

Thanks - I am hanging in. He took time (in between ranting at the nurses and demanding to be taken home) to tell me he loves me. He's still in there somewhere...

Hope your dad will be better soon. My grand-ma had a stroke some years ago, and afterwards went through a phase were she didn't recognize us, and talked to us liked we were total strangers. That was pretty scary!
And - "Turn" please please please! It's such an amazing story!

Yeah, things that affect the mind scare the crap out of me. And just to make things more interesting, my mom has come down with some kind of stomach bug. Sucky week is still sucking. And now with vomit.

Oh well, at least I had a new chapter of Turn to read last night!

And yes, I think that Turn will have to be the next recording endeavour, after I've worked my way through the rest of the Foundation one-shots. It is a thing of beauty, isn't it?

Given my life right now, though, it's gonna take a while...

I'm so sorry your going through a family crisis like that. Having family in the hospital is always stressful. :(

I can't really do much more than offer kind words and sympathy, but I hope that things get better for you and your dad soon.

Thank you so much for the lovely note, and I apologize for not replying before now. The kind words and sympathy help more than you know, and things are much better now (just posted about the incredible turn-around in dad's health in the last couple of weeks).
