I liked it. Tommy's experience felt empty, the opposite effect of what "putting yourself in the shoes of the less fortunate" should be. If this had a been a news blurb on Channel 7, it would've been hyped up, it would've included what they had done and how moving, fulfilling, charitable, illuminating it had been. It reminded me of an episode of the Tyra Banks show, when she dressed up as a homeless woman to try and understand what thousands of impoverished people go through day to day. But after her 24 hours, she returned to super model, tv host. Nothing had changed.
It's exactly the same with this. It's just a bunch of wankers wanking off to their "enlightening" roles as homeless people on the streets of NYC. The only thing it did was bring together 40ish people for an odd reunion so they could feel chumped up. The only thing Tommy got was thanks.
