Time for "Seasonal Songs of the 70s & 80s" once again! SPRING! (pt 1)

Apr 09, 2008 16:11

Throughout the past year, I have posted my own calculations of the Top 20 songs from 20 years, for various seasons. Summer, fall, and winter can be found on my public journal if you're interested. (Calculations based on Billboard Top 40 charts, not personal opinion!)

All that's left is:

SPRING!
Top 20 songs of spring (March 1 to, but not including, Memorial Day), part 1: 1970s: )

I don't think I had an appreciation for spring until I moved to Oregon, so although most of these songs have memories attached to them, I don't think I relate them to springtime ( ... )

Oh, wow. Strange to see "Let It Be" nearly at the beginning--I just saw "Across the Universe" (and adored it, btw).

It's very weird to think of the Osmonds having Top Ten and Twenty hits, somehow.

Clapton's "Lay Down Sally" is the first song I specifically remember hearing on the radio. Dunno why that sticks in my memory, but there it is. I would have been eight, assuming I heard it when it was a hit.
