It's pretty amazing. Even more so when you think about the size and incredible diversity of California; it's not a small, homogenous state. I'll be interested to read some of the stories not out of San Francisco or Los Angeles, but from the small desert towns and horse-country counties.
From what I understand, you don't have to be a California resident to be married there. Would you consider getting married on your next vacation?
Completely unplanned, we will be in Palm Springs (as usual) the week before the election (flying home on election day, in fact), so even if it's voted down, we still have a window.
Whether we will make it legal or not has not been discussed in detail, but we're both kinda saying "Sure, why not?"
I teared up this morning when I got an emailed invitation from a friend & colleague to her wedding ceremony to her wife on 7/21. I can't go, but I've asked her to send me pictures. (They had a commitment ceremony on 7/21/07, thus the wait.)
Just checked... I have yet to feel less married because my good friend can now get married.
I realize this is a cliche thing to say, but I think that, if anyone is "devaluing" marriage, it's the Hollywood (and other celebrity) pinheads who get married for a couple of weeks when they need some attention. (I guess it's marginally better than birthing accessory babies for attention, but still.)

But, other than that, I've been filled with cheery, happy thoughts about this. Wish I knew someone getting married! :)
