My Chorus, of which I am a singer, Board member/Treasurer AND Membership chair, and which has been the bane of my existence these past few months (due to stress, drama, people not holding up their workload, etc), has our final concert of the season (and my final concert as a singer for QUITE a while) in a couple of weeks. ermmmm....there's one or two I often see at the Durham dinner group and another I've met at matt & john's par-tays.
and I think I understand about the drama now..

LOL, any time you get a bunch of gay men together, there is drama. Any time you get a bunch of performing artists together, there is drama. Spice with an overworked Board consisting almost totally of performing members, many who are both fiercely territorial about some things and completely unwilling to touch some other things. Throw in a 'concept piece'; requiring the hiring of soloists and instrumentalists, selling program ads for the first time ever, a board that's in transition from an operating to a governing Board, and a couple of toxic personalities, and try to do most of your business by email (where everything is open to misinterpretation), and WOOO, stand back!
