Well, it's a matter of timing--Abba of course had plenty of hits, but most were winter or spring songs. Other than "Take a Chance...", the only big summer song of theirs was "Waterloo", which just missed making the top 20 for summer 1974. "Dancing Queen" was a #1 song, but it was in April.
And why did the Beatles chart again in 1976? What did I miss?
"Got to Get You Into My Life" was rereleased (not a new recording) and made the Top 10. I don't remember why; I don't think it was in a movie or anything.

"Midnight at the Oasis" -- I remember my parents and their friends, the Ingrahams, sitting out on the back porch one night drinking and hooping it up. They were laughing about this song and its sexual innuendos. Whenever I heard that song after that, I listened carefully, trying to figure out what they were laughing about, but I didn't get it.
Jive Talkin reminds me of being at summer camp -- the one I sent you the group picture of where I'm the whitest girl there.
Afternoon Delight reminds me of being at the beach. That was the first summer my friends and I were old enough to be dropped off there for the day, so I practically lived at the beach that summer. Afternoon Delight was always on the Toot-a-loop radios we brought with us.
Hotel California reminds me of summer of 77, but I don't remember when that was released. So does Carwash.
Baker Street really reminds me of summer of 1978. I was working at a deli, and that always seemed to be on the radio as I snapped the tops off vats of peppers.

When was the last time you heard (or a radio station played) "Daddy, Don't You Walk So Fast"? "I'm Not Lisa"? "Playground in My Mind"?
