[ accidental video ]

[The video feed begins with a jolt, the device on a bedside table tumbling over onto its side to watch a sleepily swung arm withdraw as a young man with unruly dark hair shifts to get into a more comfortable position. Those familiar with it will recognise the room as Ginny's, and the witch in question is currently asleep ( Read more... )

[First: there's amusement. You guys are so cute, little nippers in a pod.

And then: there's realisation. You're in bed. Together.

And then: there's--]

Potter!

[Bollocks. Bollocks. It's not like they've tried to keep this secret, but this certainly wasn't how she wanted to be outed, either. They are completely innocent.]

Fred, calm down.

Calm down? He's in your bloody bed! I'm fair certain this is the time to be anything but calm.

Yeah, funnily enough, I noticed that-thanks!

[It is too early to deal with this. Damn it, Fred.]

I haven't got a problem with it, I don't see why you do!

[Well, obviously she knows why he does, but there's no reason.]

I thought you gave up sleeping with dolls after that incident with Mrs Twinkles.

I actually have no idea what you're talking about.

[Alright, no freaking out from the other older brother. This is good.]

But Harry's different, you know that.

I suppose you were a little young to remember, but you were well traumatized at the time. Fred and I had worked for ages on that transfigeration spell...

[Considering the two of them are back together again where he comes from... and he's fairly certain Harry's given up on sleeping in Ron's room at the Burrow... well, it's not exactly shocking. Besides, if Ginny has to be with someone, it's better Harry than Michael Corner.]

Might want to leave your device in the drawer next time.

Oh, Merlin. Yeah, no, we don't talk about that, George Weasley. It's a wonder I didn't come out of that the same way Ron did with his teddy.

[Excellent point. Ron would probably have a heart attack, really. Or Mum. Definitely Mum. Maybe sneaking around at home is more necessary than here. Not that they were sneaking, they just kept their business private.]

Er, right. I usually do, but I just-forgot.

Preserving our privacy. Saving your life from my brothers.

[She is still sprawled completely on top of him as she fumbles with the device, shutting it off with a few good slaps and then tossing it unceremoniously into a drawer (entirely unnecessary violence on her part). That done, Ginny relaxes bonelessly across him, forehead to the edge of the mattress, and she releases a slow breath. Merlin's beard, it's too early for this.

Her voice comes next, muffled against the bedclothes.]

Whichever works for you.

Shut up, Harry, that's awful.

[One arm disentangles itself from the blankets to swat blindly at him as she starts laughing, the sound verging on the edge of incredulous and exasperated-might as well laugh because this situation has to be laughed about, really. Ginny rolls onto her back, still lying crosswise on him and her hair dangling over the side of the bed, and the laughter picks up.]

Maybe it's not as bad as we think. [She looks over at him, giving his chest a solid prod with her fingertips.] At least you're back to normal.

[There is a very wide eyed, extremely pale redhead on the screen. Merlin's beard she is not ready for this.]

Harry!

[It's a squeak really and then...]

Ginny Weasley! Would someone like to explain to me what is going on here?

[OH, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS MAGICAL. She cannot deal with this right now, this is her boyfriend's mother and they are completely innocent and they are clothed, there's nothing wrong with this! Ginny stares at the screen a bit blankly, cheeks colouring, then states rather indignantly,]

Nothing's going on! Merlin's beard, we were just sleeping.

[Ginny, no need to be rude or defensive.]

[Once the shock has worn off, Lily can tell that they're clothed and it appears fairly innocent. She takes a measured breath and nods.]

I see that. Does this sort of 'nothing' happen often?

[Okay, rationality, this is good. This is something she should try, too. Ginny huffs out a breath, glancing away.]

Well, he's my boyfriend, so I'd imagine so, yeah.

[ Harry's not the only one who woke up changed back this morning, but Ariadne was in a much less compromising position; instead of cuddling with someone in bed, she was curled up with Pancake the corgi on the kitchen floor. The network, of course, is always happy to point out that it could have been worse... though considering her grin as she replies, she's more amused than thankful. ]

Cute. At least you two were dressed, though you might want to adopt a "no bedroom" policy when it comes to these things.

[ There's a pause. ]

I'd offer to hide you from the inevitable wrath of... someone, Harry, but things are a bit cramped here at the moment.

[Ginny recognises the face on her screen immediately and she's a little startled, too, because she hadn't realised Ariadne came back to the City. But... it doesn't seem like she remembers her (and Merlin, that's happening far too often lately) so she just breaks into an easier smile to cover up her initial reaction, her words eliciting a rather sheepish response.]

We'll keep that in mind if he survives my brothers. [Ginny huffs out an amused breath, shoving her tousled hair behind her ears.] And don't think I'm not bloody grateful the City decided to leave us our clothes. There are curses that take them away, you know.

[ It's probably a good thing that Ginny doesn't say anything; two people have recognized her already, and while Eames and Arthur had both told her that she had been in the city before, that the others weren't crazy, it still distresses her. She doesn't know what they might know, and as much as she likes creativity and new things, there are a few areas in her life in which she would prefer rigidity. ]

Brothers? Good luck. [ She looks a bit pained on Harry's behalf before shaking her head. ] Has anyone ever just asked the deities if they're sadists? Because that might explain a lot.

[Ginny knows how this works. Baby steps, you know, and it's not like they were painfully close-this distance created by memory loss isn't as harsh as it has been with others. She certainly understands, remembers what it was like to come back from home and have slews of people know her name. It was unsettling, to say the least, even though her memories did come back the next few days.

She grimaces in agreement, though she's amused, too.]

Yeah, brothers. Just two of them are here, thank Merlin, but that's more than enough, I reckon. [She raises an eyebrow, shrugging.] I don't think there's any need to ask them that, though. Just take a look at the past weekend.
