Last night I was waiting tables and was sat a two-top.  I went up to greet the table, and realized that the guy HAD FREAKING PINKEYE.

I think that customers often forget that their servers, bussers, bartenders, cooks, and dishwashers are people too and by coming in to our restaurant with their disgusting virus they're exposing us to that same degree ( Read more... )

I've been thinking about spending a couple months in Mexico learning Spanish and teaching English.
Then I started thinking about the wonderful food in Mexico.
Then I started thinking about the wonderful food not available in Mexico...

And decided I couldn't live without curry powder.
What would you bring?

So today I write up a contract and put down my earnest money.

I will admit, I did jump around a lot yesterday.

Pretty soon I need to start thinking about inspectors and cashing out stocks.
Eep.

Do you want to know what I'm honestly most excited about with the whole house thing?

Getting a dog.
A big, happy, lovey lap dog for snuggles and walks.

Right now, the name of my future dog I haven't met is Banana.  Maybe Banana Hat.  Or Banana Head.

I found a house on Thursday when I went out with my realtor.  I think it's THE house.

It's on Cherokee in South City.  It's big and pretty and there's an empty lot next to it that's owned by the city that I'm going to try to buy and make a double lot for my future dog and garden, and I think I'm about ready to panic.

Most people in South Saint Louis know of Wayne St. Wayne. His mural at Mangia Italiano has been a work in progress for well over 10 years. His painted records, bottles, and horror movie murals can be seen in many other businesses and homes.
