Title: First Kisses collection #1. Jaejoong/Changmin
Pairing: Jaejoong/Changmin
Rating: PG
Genre: general?
Summary: Jaejoong thinks he's got Changmin figured out.
Note: #1 in the collection, written for Mika, because I had to be an idiot and plan a month away. The collection will grow upcoming days, Request of a Lover is not dead. Check my post on that, might you have questions regarding that series. For now, enjoy my very first try at JaeMin. (Also; old version of Word has no proper spell check -_-)

It’s not that Jaejoong can help himself, really. He chases Changmin’s antics around the world, watches him dive his nose into books and decaf, swallowing away comments before they ever surface. It’s an interesting process to watch; a boy holding himself back for the fear of becoming an adult too early. He’s not quite sure the rest of the members notice how Changmin always has an answer ready, but hides it together with his dark thoughts in a crack of his heart. He has to be really patient, Jaejoong muses, patient like an inactive volcano.

When Changmin loosens up, he’s still the same boy only sharper and definitely not older. He’ll never be older, because he’s the youngest. It could be a blessing and a curse at the same time, but Jaejoong doesn’t see it as black and white as the others do. Changmin is very vibrant, albeit in hues of dark blacks and blues. Maybe Junsu is their angel and Changmin is their little devil - Jaejoong always had a thing for bad girls and boys.

They fight a lot. It’s too easy to fight with Changmin. There’s not many buttons to press with the kid, but somehow it always ends up with them one-touching each other where it hurts. Perhaps it hurts a little more than they’d like to admit, but Changmin would never agree to that and Jaejoong is too fascinated watching him hold back. It becomes a game; one where Jaejoong pushes and pulls until Changmin’s surface cracks and the truth is revealed.

It is one rainy afternoon when Jaejoong realises that maybe Changmin is just all that; held-back frustration, but not honest frustration itself. He’s done all he can, basically, and finds himself out of moves. The youngest member is listening to Yurisangja on his i-pod and Jaejoong wants there to be more to him than just his wishful thinking. The next move is so spontaneous it even catches Changmin off-guard.

It’s not supposed to be a kiss - it’s still a game and Jaejoong really doesn’t swing that way. It’s just that Changmin looks all sorts of Junsu with his earphones in, humming along to the music, and Jaejoong doesn’t want to see him so out of himself. He knocks over the cup of coffee when he leans over the table and this derives Changmin’s attention long enough for him to catch the younger boy’s lips. A peck - nothing more, nothing less, but Changmin’s eyes grow large and unreadable and Jaejoong feels awkwardly victorious.

There’s coffee on Jaejoong’s sleeve and he moves over to the sink to wash it out without really thinking about what he’s just done. As the water runs, he hums the song the other was listening to and chuckles to himself. No, Changmin really was all held-back frustration and inactive volcano to the point where his honest emotions had just disappeared and all there was to it was holding back. There had been no reproaching, no one-touching, no outraged cry after the kiss. Changmin is white glue; holding everything together until all you see is the glue.

Perhaps Jaejoong should’ve known that although he believed Changmin to be so, the boy was still thoughts and theories in his head. There’s no real passion about it, but when he turns around he finds himself pinned against the wall. There’s a look on the young face in front of him that he hasn’t seen before and his fingers curl around his own sleeves when he realises that he’s been misjudging the other.

Changmin kisses him hard, demanding and overpowering. The inexperienced type of kissing that lacks technique but makes up for that with raw emotion. Jaejoong really doesn’t know Changmin this way and he feels himself reach out for the boy, pulling on his sweater until he doesn’t stop.

Half an hour later, when both their mouths are swollen and Jaejoong is pushing his tongue against a cut Changmin’s teeth have made in his lower lip, he says without it meaning to be an insult; “I always knew you weren’t cute,” and earns himself a one-touch in the ribs.
