[Thread] Just Like The Moon [Open~]

Spring had been a long time coming this year, as Sakura had noted, but now it had started to make itself known throughout the city. Naruto was mildly surprised to realise that he’d seen this change of seasons two full times now; somehow it still seemed like it was only yesterday that he’d arrived at Tsunade’s school. And got into a scrap with ( Read more... )

It hadn’t been her intention to waste a perfectly beautiful day holed up in the library. She had gone there early in the morning after staying at Obito’s place overnight to get some studying done. It just so happened between the kittens and Sasuke (she needed to stop freaking out about this right now!) she just couldn’t concentrate well enough to be effective in completing her assignments. Sakura sighed as she looked out the dust encrusted window for the umpteenth time; the sunlight was filtering through making everything it touched seemed like it has an aura about it. It had become too tempting to ignore after an hour of gazing wistfully out the window so methodically Sakura gathered her things and tucked them away in her bag ( ... )

Naruto's face immediately lit - not that it'd been dark in the first place, but the change was still clearly visible - as he craned his neck in Sakura's direction. "Hey, yaself!" Maybelline stilled under his fingertips, the soft twang of her steel strings whispering away, and he stashed her carefully on the step where wandering feet couldn't trample her.

Bouncing to his feet, Naruto grinned and held his arms out for a hug. "How ya been, darlin'? I feel like I haven't seen ya in an age. We're like ships passin' in the night or somethin'. Haha!" They'd both been busy, despite the fact that she was often over to visit him and Sasuke and the cats. He still had work, even if he was only now getting back to singing form. And then there was keeping up with Tem, and Anko, and Mateo. Mateo was starting to show his age these days. It was hard to see him deteriorating so fast, but it was nature, and even Naruto knew he couldn't change that. "Tell me what ya've been up to!"

Sometimes she thought that Naruto's smile was brighter than the sun,the thought was instantaneously followed by her internally laughter about the cheesiness of it. She hugged him half leaning over to reach him taking note that they were almost nose to nose thanks to the stairs instead of having her face buried in Naruto's chest. She laughed a little, “Ships passing in the night?” still ridiculous. “I’ve been really well. Got back from a trip to London a week or so ago, which is probably why you haven’t seen me. Bryn took me for my birthday since I didn’t have anything else planned. He and Fai Long got into a fight over who got to carry my cake out and it ended up on the floor! Can you believe that? I was over a few nights in a row at Obito’s, but Sasuke told me you were working ( ... )

"Man, you and your jetsettin' ways," he teased, ignoring the part about Bryn entirely. Really, what the hell did Sakura see in that guy? He was such a dick that even Kiba didn't like him. That ought to have set off alarm bells in her head, surely?

Oh, well, there was just no accounting for taste...

Naruto's hands tucked themselves neatly behind his head as he squinted up at the sun. "What've I been up to? Hmm...'bout the same as always, I guess! Work's been a little sad 'cause I haven't been able t'sing, but that'll be over soon." The mere prospect made him bounce delightedly on the spot. Naruto had always been easy to please like that. "Other'n that, just been runnin' about trying t'keep up with everyone and stuff. 'S so much harder these days! Do we know when the dorms're gonna be ready again?" Yeah, living with Sasuke again was cool, and he'd miss the kittens, but he was so used to having all of his people around him that it felt really, really weird to do without them at the moment.

She nodded her head leaning back on her hands soaking up the sun, it felt good on her bare skin. She burned easily though something that she hated, the feeling of peeling skin and looking like a lobster. Mentally, she noted that her sunscreen needed to go into her purse.

As Naruto talked about the 'same as always' stuff she imagined him running around from place to place. Seriously, did he even sleep? He never looked tired, but maybe it was his extremely high energy level that kept him going and going! Her brow furrowed when he mentioned the dorms, now that she'd been living away from them she didn't want them to be fixed. Everything had been going so much better now that they weren't living there. Of course she agreed with Naruto about not getting to see everyone as much, heck she hadn't seen Ino or Tenten in weeks. But she liked the time she got to spend with Sasuke, and the things that they did at Obito's without him acting weird about it. As if he'd be able to teach her how to cook at the school, and fat chance they'd be able to ( ... )
