Spring had been a long time coming this year, as Sakura had noted, but now it had started to make itself known throughout the city. Naruto was mildly surprised to realise that he’d seen this change of seasons two full times now; somehow it still seemed like it was only yesterday that he’d arrived at Tsunade’s school. And got into a scrap with

Bouncing to his feet, Naruto grinned and held his arms out for a hug. "How ya been, darlin'? I feel like I haven't seen ya in an age. We're like ships passin' in the night or somethin'. Haha!" They'd both been busy, despite the fact that she was often over to visit him and Sasuke and the cats. He still had work, even if he was only now getting back to singing form. And then there was keeping up with Tem, and Anko, and Mateo. Mateo was starting to show his age these days. It was hard to see him deteriorating so fast, but it was nature, and even Naruto knew he couldn't change that. "Tell me what ya've been up to!"

Oh, well, there was just no accounting for taste...
Naruto's hands tucked themselves neatly behind his head as he squinted up at the sun. "What've I been up to? Hmm...'bout the same as always, I guess! Work's been a little sad 'cause I haven't been able t'sing, but that'll be over soon." The mere prospect made him bounce delightedly on the spot. Naruto had always been easy to please like that. "Other'n that, just been runnin' about trying t'keep up with everyone and stuff. 'S so much harder these days! Do we know when the dorms're gonna be ready again?" Yeah, living with Sasuke again was cool, and he'd miss the kittens, but he was so used to having all of his people around him that it felt really, really weird to do without them at the moment.

As Naruto talked about the 'same as always' stuff she imagined him running around from place to place. Seriously, did he even sleep? He never looked tired, but maybe it was his extremely high energy level that kept him going and going! Her brow furrowed when he mentioned the dorms, now that she'd been living away from them she didn't want them to be fixed. Everything had been going so much better now that they weren't living there. Of course she agreed with Naruto about not getting to see everyone as much, heck she hadn't seen Ino or Tenten in weeks. But she liked the time she got to spend with Sasuke, and the things that they did at Obito's without him acting weird about it. As if he'd be able to teach her how to cook at the school, and fat chance they'd be able to ( ... )
