Oscar's Birthday

Feb 04, 2007 11:29

Well, Oscar had a birthday party on Friday, too! It wasn't quite as sucessful, seeing as how the birthday boy really didn't care about the streamers or even his special parmesan and butter cake, but it was fun nonetheless. (He's three, and we don't know his exact birthday...we know that it's either Feb 1, 2 or 3, so we just decided to go with ( Read more... )

Awww, Happy Birthday, Oscar!! Boy, that's a good looking cake. The picture of Jason holding him so he can have his picture made with not-his-cake is hilarious. I wonder what's going through his head right there? *g*

His head is saying..."These people are trying WAY to hard to please me. There must be benedryl in that cake. I won't give in to the deliciousness of butter, I won't! I have standards. Let me down, you boor! Why are things on fire? This is much worse than I imagined...What can this all mean? Good pants, that's a HAT. No...No...No...No...I can't believe they're taking pictures of me. Do you people not see my indignance? I'll never live this down. I want to die. Oh...you're putting me down now? See you later, you evil trolls. I'm out. I'll be in the closet. Don't try to find me."

I'm pretty sure that's it...

Wow, Oscar looks even less thrilled about his birthday this year than I am. I love the magic burrowing cat picture, it reminds me of my parents weiners.

He started the burrowing thing the first time he popped his eyelid. He was wearing his e-collar and couldn't curl up very easily. I had the death flu and apparently was an excellent source of warmth, so he crawled under and slept right on me.

I figured that once he was better he would stop doing it, but apparently it's addictive, and now every night he wakes me up so that I can lift the covers and let him in.

So. Did you *make* this paremsan and butter cake? And is it dog-friendly?

That depends on whether or not you're cool with the dogs eating an icecream scoop of margarine...Because that's really all it was. Topped with a lot of pizza cheese. I figured that he would just lick at it -- he likes it when I pour pizza cheese on the table for him, and I can't open the butter container without him sticking his head in it...

And I was mostly right. He eyeballed it, decided that we were WAAAAY too excited about giving it to him, gave it a suspicious sniff, a quick lick and wandered off.

I'll bet Bonaparte was far more gracious about his party.
