I can understand what you mean. I haven't seen the whole movie yet, but I saw the part with them in the hole or whatever and even in that short clip I felt like Rabbit looked a little.. odd? And not even like Rabbit at all to begin with. I think I love the animation on its own if it WASN'T Rabbit in a Pooh movie, but I can definitely understand it not fitting.

Oh for sure.
Over-the-top stuff like this has its place where it's awesome and works really well.

That place isn't the Hundred Acre Wood however. :3c

Never saw the whole movie either but I'm pretty sure I agree! I'm a big fan of Eric Goldberg... if they gave him any character, it should've been Tigger, I guess.
And I agree with the clean-ness. It just looks weird when it's not xeroxed.

I'll watch it someday... but I'm not sure about the voices. I love some of the voices Jim Cummings did (I mean... DARKWING, also more recently, Ray), but I just kind of hate it when he does these weird low voices for Tigger (and Pegleg Pete, for example).

hmm, over-exaggerated animation is a HUUUUUGE turn-off for me, regardless. It's one of the big reasons why a lot of cartoons are practically unwatchable to me. But to see such in a cartoon that's meant to be subtle?
That's like putting hot sauce in a bagel. ewwwww.

I like really over-the-top posing and whatever, so long as it FITS and is, like, normal for that particular "universe" know what I mean?

I never think YEAH CARTOON SILLY CRAZY THINGS when I think of Winnie the Pooh. It took so much away for me, which upsets me because I was so happy to see a traditionally animated movie again.

Feels so awkward.

sorta off-topic but speaking of winnie the pooh, are you familiar with 'THE TAO OF POOH'?

It was a philosophy book I read years ago that compares each of the pooh characters and how they relate to the various ancient Chinese principles of Taoism.
I know you probably dont give crap about philosophy perhaps but just thought I'd bring up on the subject of winnie the pooh.

by the way, according to "the tao of pooh" I'm apparently Owl.
"happy to offer his advice, anecdotes and opinions irrespective of someone wanting it or not" especially at knowledge of very UNimportant things.

Just another read that helps figure yourself out.

I haven't seen it yet, I've been meaning to watch it and keep forgetting. I have it on my computer, actually, but I've just gotta... watch it.

But anyway, I noticed that about Rabbit right away in one of the trailers, actually. That one where there was a scene where they were stuck in a hole and talking to Piglet at the top of the hole? I noticed right there that Rabbit's acting was exaggerated to an uncomfortable point. And I thought "maybe it's not the whole movie" but I suppose I am wrong, huh?

Anyway, it's not just you, because I noticed it before I've even seen the film!

Haven't seen it, but if you had posted these with no explaination I would have assumed someone had photoshopped in a random unrelated rabbit. It just doesn't match up at all.
