Disclaimer: I love Daniel Craig as 007 and, save for Timothy Dalton (more or less), I find all the others a bunch of bimbos, that only make my eyes roll. If you're a Sean Connery, Roger Moore or Pierce Brosnan fan, don't kill me. :P

You've made some spot-on parallels between SPN and Skyfall, and I mean spot-ON. I think you might be able to discuss it with someone who's never seen Show -- a man's love for his vehicle is kinda universal. Not as intense as Dean's love for Baby, but universal.
. . . but why would you WANT to discuss those brilliant parallels with someone who won't be able to appreciate them? All the fun's in the comparison, yes? :)
And of course the Aston Martin is Bond's home. It's the one thing that has remained unchanged amongst all the changes Bond has been through, the one thing he could always return to. I mean, sure the car has been updated over the years, but it's still the "same" car. We've had entirely different Ms, different Qs, different Miss Moneypennys, different technology . . . the Aston is the single constant in Bond's life.
. . . much like Sam and the Impala are in Dean's life. Imagine if Dean were forced to destroy Baby. D:
