That was strange. Only a few moments ago, it had been high noon in the city and the sky pirate was feeling rather pleased that his plan for the day had gone off without a hitch. However as he made his way back home, something seemed to be going rather unpleasantly awry. First the sun darkened, as if a cloud passed over it. There were a few clouds today, so that wasn't so bad. But then it started getting darker, the streetlights failed to come on and a chill wind blew through the streets, bringing a thick fog with it. It didn't take any kind of genius to realize that this wasn't natural in the least.
Cou swallowed hard as he adjusted the gym bag slung over his shoulder. He realized this wasn't good as he fished around in his jacket for a flashlight, instead only finding an handful of unactivated glow sticks from the last rave he attended. With an audible crack, he bent the first slightly and cast a very faint illumination around; barely enough for him to see a little more than five feet ahead. With a little wandering, he found a street sign and made an educated guess about which way led back home and broke into a run.
After about ten minutes of alternating between running and jogging, he found himself on the porch of what looked like his house. Without being able to see the landmarks nearby, it was difficult to say. What he did know was that he wanted inside somewhere. Something about this was unnerving him to no end and for once, he agreed with his instincts that walking around outside wasn't safe.
His hand hastily found the door knob and to his fortune, whether it was his house or not, it was unlocked. As he slowly pushed the door open, he held up his glowstick and slowly walked into the room, closing the door behind him.
"Em?" He asked, keeping his voice reasonably quiet just in case he did have the right house.
