it has been said that nowadays it's more hardcore to *not* have tattoos, etc. because almost everyone and their mother has ink and piercings these days.

mohawks are cool, but they require as much effort and preening as a mary-kay make-up job. exerting the time and effort over a no longer shocking gag is pretty fucking telling.
