005. melancholy ; woohyun/hoya

It wasn’t often that Woohyun wasn’t smiling or laughing. And when it did happen, it didn’t last for very long. After the third day in a row of Woohyun sitting by the window with his headphones in his ears, music turned up to the point where the others could hear it, Howon stepped out of his comfort zone.
“Hyung… Is something wrong?” Of course, no reply from Woohyun. His eyes were firmly fixed on the view outside the window. The skies were clear with small, white, fluffy clouds dotting the sky. Perfect weather.
Deciding to take advantage of the fact that Woohyun couldn’t hear him, Howon started to ramble. “Hyung, did you get dumped? Is Sunggyu hyung making you sleep on the couch? Did you flirt with too many girls, is that why he’s jealous? Are you depressed because a fan told you she liked Myungsoo better than you?”
A smile quirked on Woohyun’s lips, and Howon sighed, knowing he was getting somewhere. Obviously, he must’ve turned his music down after noticing Howon’s presence. “I didn’t think you really cared about my problems,” Woohyun said, sliding his headphones down to hang around his neck.
Howon shuffled on his feet awkwardly for a moment. “I’m not really a good problem solver or good with sympathizing. I’d rather just stay out of the way, but it’s not like I don’t notice or something.”
There was another silence between them before Woohyun turned his gaze from the window and smiled at Howon. “There’s nothing wrong. I’m just feeling sort of down. It happens from time to time.”
Howon nodded slowly, understanding what he meant. Sometimes, the world caught up all at once, and it was overwhelming. “Well, good. I guess I’ll go now.”
“For the record, if Sunggyu hyung and I were fighting, he would be the one sleeping on the couch, not me.”
