Hey. Sorry, I just found your LJ through xonod and cowboymarine's. But, that is rather interesting... I've never heard that one before. ...so, what about those of us that are between chapters 1 and 2? :P Anyways, just had to leave a comment here. :)

Maybe I should have your moniker...I'm the newbie to LJ! I really nly started this a few weeks ago when I came across cowboymarine is a series of fortunate internet links...

I don't have any great answer to moving from one chapter to the next....confined in a dark hole of our own making which we take for the universe, how do we imagine another dimension of reality? It may only be when someone else comes by and lets us know we are in the hole to begin with....

That's one reason I like this LJ concept...it's a window into other people's perspectives on things and some of them are really quite enlightening.

Mind if I add you to my friend list?

Really? That's cool. Well, congrads on starting a LJ, glad that you're around. So, how do you like it thus far? But, yeah, understandable about cowboymarine, same way here.

Very true... I mean, when you know nothing else, why would you even question it? ...actually reminds me about something from Life, the Universe and Everything (from the HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy eries) about the people from Krikkit and how they never looked up, because of the simple fact that there was nothing to see. (yeah, me=geek, sorry)

Right, exactly, that's one of the best things about it, being able to see how others think and what they think about. Plus the fact that you write something and you get different perspectives on it then what you have. Plus, it's always good to be able to pull from different perspectives on life. Right?

Sure, feel free to. Also if you have AIM or anything, feel free to add me if you'd like to chat sometime.

As evidence of how new I am to this I replied to myself instead of to you....anyway...I added you as a friend also...if you wanted to read my other post I guess you'd have to go back to my original string...

I guess I'm a computer neophyte...I don't have AIM...

I did get the HitchHiker's reference though, so I suppose we share some geekdom there...

I read your profile...I was an econ major in college too, but I ended up in medicine...the "dismal science" was too much for me.

I had family in Miss until two years ago when my grandmother died...she lived in Greenville during 85 of her 102 years...I remember visits there very fondly.

I added you as friend also...look forward to your perspectives on things!

Lol, right... the computer newbie, tsk, tsk, tsk. ;) That's cool, though, well, if you ever do get AIM or YAHOO or MSN or ICQ or anything, feel free to add me. (it's alot better being able to understand or explain ideas... plus a closer connection)

Wow, you're one of the first people to get a h2g2 reference. But, I mean...doesn't everyone have some geekyness to them?

Ahhh, see, I would say the other way around... I could never do medicine because it's, to me, the "dismal science" ... I mean, economics (marketing moreso) just make sense and doesn't change... you can take a problem and every time it will work out the same way, given all variables are the same.

I'm sorry about your grandmother's death, but, that's cool... Greenville is about a... 3 hour drive from my house, that's a pretty small town. So, how'd you like MS? ;)

Here's a link to an explanation of the origin of the phrase "dismal science" in relation to economics...it also mentions the "gay science" of poetry...hah!

My grandmother had a long, healthy and happy life (I asked her once her secret of success, and she said that "inside" she felt the same as she did when she was 18, it was only when she looked in the mirror that she realized that she was not 18 anymore...so she just didn't bother to look in the mirror!

I liked MS, but I like CA more...my med school roommate lived in Biloxi for a while, and I visited him there often. Once you stay in SoCal for too long, you get soft and don't want to stay anywhere else for long...it's a beautiful day now in the 70's....

lol, now I understand.... but, I rather like economics...it's nice... part of the springing point of marketing, it and physchology.

But, that about your grandmother is cool... I'll have to remember that... "Get rid of all mirrors" check, got it... w00t! I feel younger already. ;) lol

But, that's cool... you'll have to visit Biloxi next year, it looks nothing like pre-Katrina...and... I wouldn't recommend visitng anytime soon... rampant crime, not enough police, destitute, destroyed, etc. ... all that fun stuff.
