A follow up story to the one about Cpl Smith and HM3 Kirby....also turns out Kirby's cousin is Joe Worley, a corpsman I knew from my last deployment in Iraq who lost his leg in Fallujah...anyway, here's the story

Yeah....it's been a while....I've been corresponding with cowboymarine off line and mostly doing my own thing....I left my civil service job and am now working as a contractor doing about 80 hours a month in the emergency room....spending lots of time with my son, and trying to decide where to put some of my energy...I need to do some writing, maybe I should do that on LJ....

hope all is well with you...and I don't plan on being an LJ stranger!

good to hear from you. i have been struggling a bit with staying around LJ. something's missing for me. and, it makes me feel better to know you might come back. glad you and A in Texas stay in touch. he's a mighty good man....so you've been through some transitions of late. know spending time with your son is good for both of you. my son is 32 now, has a boy of his own. i miss our times past and am glad for whatever time he gives me now. hang in there!

HM3 Kerby sounds like a really great guy and I pray for him and LCpl Colin Smith.
