[Mailed to Patricia Goldberg at the Pentamerone the day after
this.]
A square cardboard box, small enough to sit in the flat of one hand, arrives at the Pentamerone addressed to Patricia Goldberg. It is posted from a Brooklyn zipcode, and inside, under a mess of that green Easter straw/grass/basket filler stuff, is a single golden egg. Someone has drawn a smiley face on it in Sharpie, though it's been a little smudged in transit. Predictably there's no return address.
