Those were very interesting things to see and hear on those devices, eh? I wonder how many of you are prepared to take the frightening images and garbled words at face value. Fear? Not really, I 'ave not felt fear in years. Anticipation, perhaps, but how we react probably vill not deter...vhatever is comink.

A reasonable assumption. From what I have observed, what this town wants, it obtains by any means necessary, though streets might run with blood and fire turn homes to ash....especially so.

Whatever's going to happen will happen regardless. Maybe we'll suffer, maybe we'll know pain, but ultimately I don't think this town's done with anyone yet. We'll live. If you call it that. Gives one a sort of grim optimism, doesn't it?

Pain is a price as high or low as this place desires to charge. Yet it must long for more than death, as it will not allow any to remain that way. Does it want our very lives? The lives so few learn to properly treasure....

I am more than optimistic - I am certain.

I think it wants a lot more than just our lives. We've got some sort of purpose here, and it's likely as dark and bitter as the dregs of my coffee mug.

A suicidal one, even! Some here will die from it before anything else can have a chance. Why they drown in terror is beyond me. I cannot help but be...a little excited.

They desire the same, hope the same, hate and fight and die the same. The only ways in which they differ is in their extremes - the extent of their greed and the fragility of their love. But this, too, is meaningless, for such things are nothing to higher beings. Humans shall always be only humans.
