Note-to-self, needed this again after upgrade of Mint.
The driver you need for a BX305FW is ESCPR, available here:

Without it, the colours don't line up. -

Smarty has the answer
I've been banging my head on a brick wall trying to puzzle why my website ignores changes I make to the html - Today I discovered that Smarty keeps a "compiled" webpage at /mdb/program/lib/Smarty/compiled/ (not Smarty/cached, or anything obvious like that). rm /mdb/program/lib/Smarty/compiled/* and all is well. -

Four-cookie problem
This is what happens when you stay with Mary's dad. I have dreamed up a maths problem to suit a 12-year old. Have a go:
I have cut three identical cookies from a circular piece of dough, such that each cookie touches the other two AND the circumference of the dough. Question: Is the remaining dough sufficient to make a fourth cookie?
