perchlorate is a chemical that is used mainly in rocket and jet fuel. here's the skinny: jets use jet fuel (duh) and those jets fly over VALLEYS. chemicals, (mainly perchlorate), settle onto the grass, cows consume this grass, digest it, are milked, and pregnant womens' fetuses who just happen drink this milk are affected through the thyroid.
