I completly understand the difficulty of communicating policital views with people, including friends, with opposing beliefs. I also understand the frustration that builds up. I think that you can use this live journal to debate, peacefully, what you stand for, and maybe see through someone else's eyes. To touch on the gay marriage issue a bit. I agree some people have construed views on justice and inequality between homosexual and heterosexual people, and couples. The way I see it is this; the Roman Catholic church, of which I am a member, does not support the practice of homosexual orientation. Therefore it is currently not allowed in the church. However, all people are people of the Lord and although they may be of homosexual orientation, in this country their liberties should not be limited. This, of course, causes a dilema. Should gay marriage be legal? I think yes. I think that two people of the same sex should be allowed to have equal marriage opportunities under the government. However, I disagree with gay

i totally agree 100% with everything said there because i also am a member of the catholic church and i think that gay marriage should be allowed but not in the church.

I agree as well. Since the Christian/Catholic religions disagree with homosexuality, I think it's the churches choice of whether they want to perform gay marriage ceremonies. If they don't want to because it goes against their beliefs, I think that's perfectly fine. However, through church isn't the only way to get married. One can be married by a judge, which is part of the government, not religion. And to deny people the right to get married by a judge is simply unconstitutional.
