i almost died on the way home, no joke, there were terrible snowstorms that started in wyoming and the roads were 100% ice. we got two hours away from home and they SHUT DOWN THE INTERSTATE so after i vomited in a gas station bathroom because i was so scared, we got a hotel and spent the night in billings. we saw like 50 cars overturned/in ditches ( Read more... )

oh my god that is terrifying.
are winters always like that? i am going on tour to the midwest in january and i am driving there with two friends. are we going to make it through alive?

montana/wyoming/the dakotas are usually pretty bad in the winter, i guess, but anywhere east of SD (like illinois) is usually fine. it doesn't help that it's not very populated out here so they don't plow the snow off the roads (!)
