MAPLEWOOD, Minn. (July 30) -- Like most pastors who lead thriving evangelical megachurches, the Rev. Gregory A. Boyd was asked frequently to give his blessing -- and the church's -- to conservative political candidates and causes.

I would really love to know where you got this article. And I would love to be a part of this church or, more specifically, to have a part in helping mine get to this point. This is exactly what we should be about and exactly some of the things that have been brought up...

I know. This is one thing that I love about my church. I am very thankful that I go to a church that lets me find my own stance. This was something I struggled with a great deal in high school. A lot of the people that I felt drawn to were not non-believers, but I found out that these were the people who struggled with the "gift" that I have been given. I always wanted them to know how to bestow mercy, as well as challenge them to advocate what they felt was right, not what their church told them was right. It caused a lot of heated conversation, and often I felt like I was being defeated in a losing battle. Reading something like this gives me hope.
