"I think people who are against abortion are stupid. If you're so against it, don't get one doofus."

true. but just like everyone else in this world everyone has their opinions, and everyone makes decisions on what they THINk is right. people are allowed to persuade, and allowed to shout there own thoughts just like what your saying against them.
you probably can't tell but i feel really strongly about this issue. a life is precious. if they want so bad to be rid of that baby, why not just give it to somebody who so badly wants one? Adoption is a better option.
people are given life for a reason. and i dont think its so it could be so quickly taken away, but sadly it happens.

Okay. But I notice that people, out government is a good example, fight so hard to make women have their babies, but once the child is born, they're forgotten.
Not to mention, there are hundreds of thousands of children up for adoption. We don't need to be making more just to put them up for adoption so that they can bounce from foster house to foster house until they're 18. All of the infertile couples have thousands of children to choose from. Plus, if it's a first trimester abortion, is it even a life yet? I mean it's not much more than cells bunched together. When does it become a life as opposed to cells?

It is a life as soon as it is created, or so, thats what I believe. I mean, I look at my little brother Tonia, I look at him you know how much I love babies :] I can't imagine any little life gone like that. Just because someone doesn't want to have it. Sure, there are people who are undergoing INCREDIBLY difficult situations, ones I can't even begin to imagine myself in, but see thats the thing all this - its about ME. Its MY opinion and my choice in what others should do.

"Okay. But I notice that people, out government is a good example, fight so hard to make women have their babies, but once the child is born, they're forgotten."
this kinda reminds me of blood brothers "who do you love who do you trust who do you kill when the senator drags out your first born"
and i finally realized what that meant (well not finally, you know what i mean) and you're right you're so right, but i think what the goverment is doing is fighting for all around LIFE, i dont think they are specifying it into one life saved.. if you know what im trying to

Well, I hate to break it to ya, but it's not completely about you. This is about women all over. But what I was asking, is when is the life created? Because you really can't call a zygote a life. You can't really call anything in the first or early second trimester a life.

And the government is not fighting for life, that is a ridiculous claim. (war in iraq anyone?)

I personally don't think abortion is the way to go in most cases. Many women use it as a form of birth-control, which I think is wrong. I also disagree with the government making it illegal, because before Roe vs. Wade, the court case that legalized abortion, women were having them in alleys and in crap clinics, which is so much worse for them then how it is now. I'm saying I don't think it's fair to have an abortion because its not going to be easy for you. Life sucks, and you deal with it. Maybe you became pregnant for a reason. It seems selfish to take away a life that could have been.

I don't think that women should use it as a form of birthcontrol, especially because of health risks. I don't agree with abortion personally, but if a woman wants one, then by all means get one. The way I see it, no one will ever understand another woman's motive for getting an abortion unless they find themselves in the exact same situation.
As for the government, I don't think the Supreme Court, which happens to be a majority of white men, will ever understand what any situation like this is like.

Yep, you tell that to a 15 year old girl who was raped by her own father that abortion is selfish because they were pregnant for some reason.

a majority of the reason of why people are against abortion is because of religion. people who strongly believe in their religion obviously aren't going to go against it so i guess thats a legitimate reason for being against it. my question though is that how and why it so immoral to get an abortion...? when is the baby technically a human life...? that's what i would like to know along with tonia. what i don't get also is how it's immoral to get an abortion and kill one baby whereas in vitro.. which creates babies isn't?! the process of in vitro creates DOZENS of fertilized egg cells, and only one out of the dozens of fertilized cells is used. so what do you think happens to all of the rest of the fertilized cells..? yeah, they are left unused and to die.. so do the math.. which one is killing more babies?. i think abortion is acceptable under certain circumstances, including the one mentioned above, and i also strongly believe in stem cell research.. which also leads to why i think abortion is also acceptable. this is my opinion and ( ... )

my parents are christians, so from a 'christian' standpoint it's cause they believe that 'every baby is meant to come because it's part of the big plan and if you kill it we'll have something missing in the plan blah blah blah blah blah.' just to help get some perspective. but i agree with u.

i've never understood that because if it's all part of god's big plan, wouldnt the abortion be part of the plan too?

This was incredibly well put. Most young feminists, well from what I have experienced, don't look at the fact that CHOICE is the main ingredient in equality. I honestly could not have said any of this better myself. And I highly encourage you to petition for Planned Parenthood. I already did, everyone's voice counts.

But back to why I left you a message, haha, care to add me new myspace friend?
