I had to debate about this topic with Andy last night. He didn't believe there was any actual story. So I told him that one. And this one...
St. Valentine was imprisoned on death row. Every once and a while the prison gaurd's daughter would come to pay a visit to her father and the prisoners. Soon, Valentine fell in love with the young girl. The day he was assigned to be exacuted(February 14) he left a letter in his cell adressed to the girl. He signed the letter in a fashion we still use today "Love, Your Valentine".
So basically we celebrate the sappy love aspect of Valentine's death. I think it's a wonderful holiday.

The original idea for the holiday is amazing. It's a day about love. The only flaw is that Halmark has to make every holiday about candy, and store-bought gifts.
However, Robots are a genuinly awesome gift. I love how both of our "cards" were robot themed.
