We're all so sucked in by our own lives that we don't know whats going on outside of what's real to us. It's sad and I don't think I'm any different from anyone else. Day to day I'm consumed by whats going on in MY world and I won't pretend its not important because it is, but supposedly the weight of the world is on my generation's shoulders and I ( Read more... )

I thikn it is great that you are trying to get more info on history and the modern world. Its really a never ending process, there is always more to learn.

As for global warming I think it only makes sense for humanity to take action. If it turns out we're wrong, but we took action anyway, what's the worst that could happen? There is an energy bill in congress right now that calls for 35 miles per gallon for cars by the year 2020 and renewable electricity sources. Lobbyists are trying to have these provisions removed, but i'm working with a group to try and make sure that doesn't happen. there is a petition here if you want to take a look http://energybill2007.us

You're right about the global warming deal, because mines completely different from your professor(s) and patrick. I think global warming is just happening over again whitout the cause of pollution and such. It probably helped it inch a bit faster, but I don't really think there's anything we can do. Also, I couldn't agree more with your thoughts on our generation.

I'm still trying to figure it all out. It's so easy to believe anything you hear. But I think the patrcik guy (don't know how he found this post ha) is kinda right about taking action to at least try to prevent further damage. But, I'd like to know all the pros and cons of such matters.

Btw, our conversation was nice last night but I felt like I ranted too much. I regret talking so much. :/
